At Sleepover Adventure Parties, we believe that every party should be a unique and unforgettable experience. That's why we offer a wide range of themes, tailored to your specific event. Especially when it comes to birthday parties for our kids, we are creating memories that will not only last but also spark warmth and happiness in the years to come. Every parent wants their child to have those "Remember when . . .?" moments where they think back to those extra special days in their life.
Life is busy, and sometimes it helps to have someone come alongside you when trying to plan an event. That's what we are here for!
When planning a party, here are a few tips to get you started:
*What theme do you (or your child) want? Something classic or maybe something trending? What's popular right now?
*Who is coming? Work on the guest list early and send invites at least two weeks prior, if possible. Send a reminder a few days before the party date.
*What's on the menu? Are the guests coming at dinner time? If so, something a little heavier would be expected. This doesn't have to be fancy! Maybe just order pizza if all the sleepover guests are coming around four or five o'clock. And if it's a party, definitely plan on dessert! Birthday cake or cupcakes, cookies, pie--something! Especially if you are planning a party for children (but a good idea regardless), send a text asking the parents if there are any food allergies you should be aware of. Kids and teens (and grown-ups!) stay up late at slumber parties. There should be snacks available later in the evening. Maybe this is popcorn for while everyone watches a movie, or chips/veggies/pretzels and dip during a craft or after an activity. Definitely have something to munch on.
*What activities are planned? Some party themes lend themselves well to crafts or activities. For example, making friendship bracelets at a Taylor Swift sleepover or making slime at a slime-themed party. Watching a Barbie movie at a Barbie-themed party makes total sense. Makeovers are perfect for a glam party. But even without a theme-inspired activity, it's a good idea to have a plan for what to do if kids get bored.
Making something that doubles as a party favor works great. Bracelets are one thing, but have you thought of tie-dying T-shirts? Have a station for tie-dying shirts or socks, let them dry, and the kids can take them home the next day. If everyone is making slime, have individual plastic containers for the kids to take their own slime home. Ceramics that the kids can paint and take home would work for a boho party. And never forget the classics! Everybody loves the game Twister! Pin the crown on the princess. And finishing the night off with dancing is fun for any party, but especially for a Tik-Tok themed night!
*What time is the party over? Slumber parties can be tiring for kids and parents. Have a set time for when parents are expected to pick up their kids or when teens are expected to head home the next morning. Leaving the time open-ended can result in communication mix-ups or parents feeling overwhelmed. Avoid all of that with a clear end time for the party.
*Take pictures and share them! Take fun pictures and text a few to the parents, along with a short thank you for allowing their child to attend the party.
